Klahoose Wilderness Resort is British Columbia’s premier Indigenous cultural experience on the lands of the toq qaymɩxʷ (Klahoose) People.

Recognized as “Authentic Indigenous”, Klahoose Wilderness Resort is an award winning, sustainable off-grid eco-resort in Desolation Sound, British Columbia, Canada.

They are an all-inclusive eco-resort, and portray the Klahoose traditional values, while offering an immersive exploration into this pristine region rich in diverse wilderness and cultural significance. Toba Inlet wildlife tours include Spring Bear viewing and late Summer to Autumn Grizzly Bear, Salmon run tours led by their Indigenous guides.

Only accessible by boat or seaplane, the resort is located within the heart of Desolation Sound, on Homfray Channel between the coastal mountain peaks of British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, the Salish Sea, and the edge of the BC’s Great Bear Rainforest.

We flew from Vancouver on a small plane to Powell river, then had a short bus journey to Lund. From here the lovely “Doug” came to pick us up in a boat to take us to Klahoose. The grizzly bear watching was incredible, and we were lucky to see humpback whales on our way back.

A highlight was kayaking, paddle boarding or jumping into the icy water, to then retreat to their sauna at the end of the dock.

The wooden cabins come as either one or two bedroom lodges with living area and kitchen.

The views from your private balcony are amazing.
